Relm Bolsters Leadership Team With Addition Of SVP Donavan Burgess

Relm Insurance Ltd. has appointed Donavan Burgess to Senior Vice President – Digital Assets, Cyber and Professional Lines.

Donavan joins Relm, reporting to CEO Joseph Ziolkowski, to strengthen its leadership team, mission, and growth ambitions. As Senior Vice President, Donavan will provide leadership, technical advice, and expertise in developing the underwriting portfolio, identifying profitable growth opportunities, forming recommendations for the business’ strategic direction, and driving operational efficiencies.

Donavan said, “I am excited to join a company that is on a mission to help the innovators of today and tomorrow, across exciting emerging industries, achieve their bold ambitions with effective risk transfer solutions.”

Donavan most recently held the post of Assistant Vice President, Senior Underwriter at AXA XL Bermuda. He was responsible for managing an extensive cyber and professional liability insurance portfolio comprising of Fortune 1000 companies across all industries and segments. Donavan also led a digital and data transformation initiative that successfully coordinated three underwriting apps’ development, roll-out, and ongoing management. In addition, Donavan played an active role in various working groups focused on operational efficiencies, business strategy, and product development.

Before joining AXA XL, Donavan worked in reinsurance claims at Montpelier Re. He recently completed his MBA at the University of Manchester, graduating in the top 5th percentile of his class, and has earned several insurance designations. He is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU). Donavan has also obtained various certifications in blockchain technology, cybersecurity, and cyber risk management.
